Ruggon Luna3

Ruggon focuses on the development and manufacture of rugged tablets, computers and monitors that can be combined with mobile computing, drones and innovative solutions for field professionals, emergency services, logistics and law enforcement. The manufacturer has expanded its offering to include a compact, ultra-rugged, 8-inch, high-performance Windows tablet.
The RuggON LUNA 3 has an 8-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and uses a capacitive 10-point multi-touch display. The resolution is 1280 x 800 pixels with a maximum brightness of 1000 nits, the manufacturer offers an optional active digitizer. Compared to 10″ or 12″ Windows tablets, the LUNA is very compact and practical. Windows readability on a small screen can be adjusted by scaling the display, RuggON recommends zooming to 125%.
Luna comes with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise OS with the option to upgrade to Windows 11.
The new LUNA 3 tablet is a very compact and durable device, making it naturally more powerful than consumer tablets. A powerful computer is built into a small but rugged industrial-grade chassis that is only 2.2 cm thick. In terms of weight, the LUNA 3 weighs exactly two kilograms. The tablet chassis is all magnesium, encased in a layer of rubberised material that envelops the entire device and makes it easier to hold. The LUNA 3 is fanless and relies on passive cooling.
The tablet comes with a powerful Intel Tiger Lake Core i5-1145G7 processor that will satisfy even the most demanding business customers. It is clear that the new RuggON LUNA 3 focuses on the high computing power needed for the most advanced field applications. The capacity that the LUNA 3 features is in the range of 8GB RAM for memory and 64 to 512GB for M.2 PCI NVMe storage.
A front-facing 2mpx camera for video calling and conferencing is located on the top left side of the display. An 8mpx rear camera with autofocus and LED flash module for photography and documentation. There is a CamOn app pre-installed to operate both cameras. The top edge of the tablet has 4 rubber buttons built in, used for power on, volume up and down and the fourth is programmable. The LUNA 3 is equipped with two USB Type-C ports, while the second one, located at the bottom, can be used for docking. There are also two micro-SIM card slots on the left side, for switching between multiple data service providers
The battery life is a balance between the size, weight and performance of the device. The LUNA 3 offers a full-featured mobile computing powerhouse in a lightweight and compact case, providing 22.7 Wh of battery power. Full tablet power is not always needed, so an optional double capacity battery is available.
The Luna 3 tablet is made of rugged and durable materials with elaborate details that affect the reliability and durability required for industrial and military use.
The LUNA 3 is IP65 rated, can withstand repeated drops from heights up to 122 cm and can handle operating temperatures of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius.
The display uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which provides extra protection against breakage and scratches.
